Howdy!! It's been a while, eh? Sorry about that :-P My early New Year's Resolution is to be better about posting (well, one of them is), so hopefully I can pull through on that. Yesterday, or Turkey Day (or more formally Thanksgiving), was a pretty good day overall. I slept in ridiculously late (like 12ish), got up, took my time getting ready, and made puppy chow, yams with marshmallows and brown sugar, turkey gravy, and stuffing, most of which came from a can or a box :-P It all ended up tasting good, so what does it matter if it wasn't "homemade"? Besides, if I actually cook something, chances are it'll be over/undercooked, disgusting, and/or just flat out terrible. True story.
When Adam came home from work, he threw a premade frozen apple pie in the oven, played some Xbox One (yes, I caved and let him get a brand new one on eBay after everywhere else sold out), and relaxed until we had to leave. At 3:15 or so, we packed up all the food and went over to another couple's apartment who happen to live in our complex (the one where the husband is besties with Adam from working on base). The wife (Nikki) made the turkey, giblet gravy, dressing, potatoes, green bean casserole, squash casserole, baked mac n' cheese, and blueberry cobbler. That girl can cook, let me tell you!! I was so incredibly full that I ended up going into a food coma for most of the night :-P
We went back home around 6 to Skype Adam's mom, brother, stepdad, and grandparents. We also ended up Skyping my side of the family, too, which was nice. Then I passed out on the couch and finally decided to go to bed around 8:30 since I had a 7am-7pm Black Friday shift the next morning. Fun ;-)
I wore a plain coral fitted tshirt (no idea the brand or price) with a stripped Billabong sweater cardigan ($40 after discount from Buckle), some dark wash American Eagle skinny jeans ($25), a pair of off-white sweater boot socks ($5 after discount from Buckle), and my super cute caramel quilted boots (Plato's for $11). Comfy and cute, right? Right.
Today, or Black Friday, was crazy. My alarm didn't go off this morning, so I woke up at 6:20 for my 7:00 shift. Fantastic. But I managed to pull it together enough to only be 10 minutes late to work (I called in to let them know, so it was all good). Work itself shifted between slow and crazy busy, but I ended up with just over $2000 in sales!! I made my personal goal!! YAY!!
In all honesty, I don't really remember a whole lot about my 12 hour shift today other than getting a full hour for break :-P The overall vibe from today was a positive one, so that's good. I know I'm slowly getting better at being able to confidently sell the different types of product, and hopefully my next paycheck will reflect that (I make 3% commission on top of my hourly pay).
Since I was short on time this morning, I ended up going for an outfit that was very similar to the one I wore yesterday. I did the same sweater cardigan and sweater boot socks with a long-sleeved BKE coral shirt that had some ruffle detailing on the end of the sleeves ($18 after discount from Buckle), a pair of BKE dark skinny jeans ($42ish after discount from Buckle), and some brown tasseled Minnetonka boots (Urban Outfitters $99) that are now being sold online at Buckle.com so I can totally wear them to work without getting into trouble :-) Did I mention that I have to wear at least one fashion top, a bottom, and a shoe from Buckle everytime I work? And that I have to wear at least 3 layers on top each time? Cuz I do. Hence the major Bucklewear for today :-P Did I also mention my 40% discount that's super awesome? Yup, be jealous ;-)
I liked this version of my outfit better than the version from yesterday. And it was still super comfy :-) Win!! After I got off of work, I picked up a Venti Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks (YUM), went home, ate some leftovers from yesterday, and then relaxed with my husband for a bit. It was really nice and just what I needed. I'm currently flipping through tv channels, but it probably won't last long since I'm like ridiculously tired :-P
OH!! Here's a quick picture of my reddish/brownish hair before I forget!! The lighting isn't the greatest (and I'm obviously super tired-looking), but at least ya'all can get a better idea of what I look like now :-) I'll make sure to post a better picture at some point. And I'll also do a post on our new apartment (after I do some cleaning) within the next few days so everyone can see how much better it is than our last place. I LOVE it, just FYI.
Here's a quick couple of pics of my new walk-in closet though to help tide ya'all over until then ;-) The first one is what my closet looks like with the door open.
Stepping inside of the closet :-)
Boots behind the door... There's a lot.
Boots, heels, etc right ahead... Again, there's a lot. The first three on the left and the tassel ones are all Buckle approved, for all whom are concerned.
Flat shoes with laces. The all cream pair (with cream laces), the ones to the right of them with the sparkles, and the black pair a the way on the left are also Buckle approved.
Pants!! The tallest stack are all Buckle approved.
Maxi dresses/skirts and shorts above the boots/heels (1 maxi is Buckle approved). Those colorful thingys on the right are my scarves, 2 of which are Buckle approved.
All but like 2 of my Buckle tops... It's a very small section still, but it's a work in progress :-)
And Adam's small section :-P
And there you have it, my full closet :-) I do love being able to walk into it now, just saying. I wish it was laid out a bit better, and it wouldn't hurt for it to be bigger in general, but it's definitely an improvement over my last closet, and that's all that matters! All righty my lovely readers, it's time for this blogger to call it a night. Have a great night, and until tomorrow... Stay fabulous my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!
