Lunch With His Family

Day #310

I was supposed to work today, but with Katy heading out for Tampa, to stay with Kassy for ten days, I found someone to switch shifts with me so I can take her to the airport with my parents and Jake and say my goodbyes.

It ended up working out really well because Gage and I were invited to go to lunch at Newton's Cafe, downtown Waterloo, with his family that was in town. We had amazing food, some good laughs, and he got to spend quality time with his two little cousins. :)

Once I got home, Jake and I left with Katy, mom and dad for the airport, forty-five minutes away. I was very proud of myself for not crying at the airport, when I thought I just might. Now I'm an only child...(for three days). -_-

I'm exhausted, so I'm going to bed now!

KATY!!!!

Day 310

Hi!! Be proud, I worked out again today, but this time from 9:30-10:30am :-) Anyways... Today is a big day for me because... wait for it... KATY IS COMING TO STAY WITH ME FOR 10 WHOLE DAYS!! Woohoo!! She arrives at 8pm, so I spent a large portion of the day doing some major cleaning. Let me tell you, the apartment was a huge mess. I kind of haven't done a whole lot of that cleaning business for a while, so this major cleaning was definitely needed.

My outfit today consisted of a teal SammyDress.com elephant-printed shirt ($8.50) and my favorite cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale). Comfy, cute, and one of my favorite everyday outfit combinations.

I do love me a cute elephant shirt, that's for sure :-)

I threw on my light brown Rue21 pointy-toed flats ($15 or so) since they made sense with my outfit while still being really comfy.

So, I would like to point out that even though I did workout and not wash my hair, it still looks really pretty. Yeah.. Be jealous ;-)

Pretty hair :-)
I'm going to continue cleaning until Katy gets here, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

It's That Time Of The Week Again

Day #309

It's that time of the week again...when I get a day off! :) WAHOO!

I plan on spending my day off hanging out with Gage, and I can't wait! We're going to relax, hang out, and go to his softball game later in the night. I'm excited! :)

We went to my house for lunch, hung out with the daycare kiddos, got his bike rack hooked up to his car, AND I even did his laundry- it was mixed in with mine. Look at us being all productive and coupley!

It was nice outside today, so I enjoyed hanging out at the ballpark, watching his team play. Plus, since I'm not legal, I was able to have a drink while watching. Thanks to daddy dearest, I enjoyed an nice Angry Orchard Hard Apple Cider with a side of softball. :)

Gage and I are leaving now for home! Have a lovely night!

Lazy is My Middle Name

Day 309

Bonjour!! Since I had the day off today, I made the executive decision to use it to my advantage and be the laziest person possible. It was a really great idea, by the way :-) Other than doing my usual 6am workout and doing the basic things to get ready for the day, I did absolutely nothing noteworthy... And I loved every second of it!! For real. I lounged around in a gray-and-white-striped Banana Republic tank top I had bought from an outlet store for $10 or $15 years ago with a pair of cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale), yet another great idea of mine. I watched lots of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, spent a lot of time laying around on the couch, you know... the good stuff ;-)

Like I said, nothing even remotely noteworthy happened today. Sorry not sorry :-P I'm going to continue being a lazy bum, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

LOVE THIS DRESS

Day #308

I am so in love with my new dressed I cracked out today! It's super adorable! :)

I bought this new dress as a part of my birthday gifts from my parents, and it was one of my brightest ideas! It's super cute, comfy, and I got it for cheaper than everyone else will. WIN! :)

Work was fine today. I had some really awesome customers to help, and some not-so-nice ones; they balanced each other out. My ADS was pretty high, and I felt cute! The only bummer was that I worked from 4:30 to close. :/

While I was at work, a pregnant lady and her mother came in looking to buy a dress- hopefully a maxi dress- to wear at her baby shower. I thought, "Perfect!" We have a ton of maxi dresses, so this shouldn't be too difficult, right?! I was wrong. And by wrong, I mean completely, totally, 100% off on my guess. It was AWFUL! She didn't like anything I brought her to try on, she didn't even give my ideas a chance, AND she dissed my outfit! How freaking rude is that?! Ugh. I was so annoyed. After she called my outfit ugly, I basically lost all hope on helping her, and that doesn't happen ofter when I'm working with a customer.

I'm at Gage's now, so I'm going to let you go so I can get some rest! Night! :)

So. Very. Tired.

Day 308

Howdy!! Guess who had another 11-9:30 shift today?! This girl. And guess who had another incredibly slow shift today?! Also this girl. It was so painful, and I was so incredibly tired. Not loving it at all. BUT my outfit was incredible yet again, allowing me to receive a TON of compliments on it. I most definitely love it when that happens :-)

This outfit consisted of a mint green JollyChic.com pencil skirt ($14), a white Forever 21 lace tank top (Plato's Closet for $6), and a cropped white cardigan that I've had for a ridiculously long time.

Similar cropped white cardigan
I wore a cute statement necklace from Dillard's to add some more interest to my outfit. It was only like $15 or so on sale, so I couldn't say no :-P

How fabulous is this skirt, though, for real?! I'm SO in love with it :-)

I went with a lighter brown pair of Rue21 flats ($15 or so on sale) to not overwhelm the outfit.

Since I had such a long, exhaustingly slow day again, I opted to keep a low profile after work and just relax until bed. Nothing too exciting here. It happens. I'm going to get going, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!

Really Long Work Day

Day 307

Hey!! So, today was one of the longest work shifts I've ever had to work. Not even kidding. 11-9:30. Super long. And completely dead. As in, there were hardly any customers in the store. I did still manage to make Top 10 Sales Associates, which is pretty impressive considering how dead the store was. Somewhat proud of myself, I will say :-) I was also proud of myself for getting up to work out at 6am and not napping before work. That takes some major skill, for real.

I was in complete love with my outfit today, which consisted of a cream crochet no name tank top (TJ Maxx years ago for $8), a cream high low no name cardigan (also TJ Maxx for $13), and my black Daytrip jeggings from Buckle ($50). FABULOUS!!

My Daytrip jegging
I then threw on a beautiful layered necklace I bought from Dillard's for like $17 on sale.

I SO love this cardigan!! It's so comfortable, and when I walk, it flows behind me like a cape would. In other words, it makes me feel like a superhero ;-)

I went with my tall black SammyDress.com boots ($17 or $18) to finish off the look, and I've got to say, I received a TON of compliments on my outfit today, so apparently I made all the right choices. Score for Kassy :-)

After work, I went home and relaxed until bed. I was completely beat. For real. Nothing too exciting or interesting here. Sorry about it :-P I'm going to head out, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Back At Work

Day #307

As much as I thoroughly enjoyed having four days off from work, it's time for me to go back and get into the swing of things again and earn some money!

Today I worked from 11:30AM until 5PM, and we were pretty slow. It honestly didn't surprise me all that much though because it's a Monday, and that's usually just home Monday's go. We did pick up a little around 2:30, when the management meeting was going on, but I think it might have just been seeming to pick up on business since I was the only one working out on the sales floor. Truth.

I'm going over to Gage's for the night here in a little bit, so this is all for the day! Ciao!

Time To Meet The Family

Day #306

Why, oh why, did I agree to this...I told Gage I would go to his impromptu family reunion today, so that's what I will be doing all day.

Gage's aunt and uncle (on his mom's side) live in Pennsylvania, and they're in town for a week and a half or so, so the whole family was getting together to see them while they're here. They were super nice, and they're kids were adorable! The only negative is that almost everyone in Gage's family smokes, so I was surrounded by that all day. -_-

Luckily, Katy was invited too, seeing as how she's dating Jake and Jake and Gage are brothers. So at least she was there to share the pain with me, and then later talk it over with me after we got home. :P lol

It was a long day in Farley, Iowa! We got there around noon and didn't head out until almost 6. GAG. I was getting hungry for dinner, and I was tired from the long day and long weekend. Thank the Lord Gage said something to his mom about us being tired.

I'm home now, and I'm about to watch "True Blood" with mom and dad. Talk to ya later!

Hard Times at Work

Day 306

Hey!! So, remember how I laid around for hours last night watching Buffy the Vampire Slayer on Netflix? Well, that came back to bite me in the butt, so to speak. I woke up this morning feeling incredibly depressed after not doing anything with my life for most of yesterday, and my work shift didn't do anything to help with that depression. I was either on the verge of tears or actually emitting tears the entire shift. Fantastic, right?! I had no energy, no motivation, no drive. This led to me not selling very much, and by that I mean less than $200 the entire shift. Yup. That happened.

My outfit was quite fabulous, though, so that's good. I wore a striped Michael Kors maxi dress (Amazon.com for $75) under a dark teal Charlotte Russe cardigan ($12). I love this dress :-)

Similar Charotte Russe cardigan
I threw in a fabulous Dillard's necklace ($40 on sale) since it went really well with my outfit.

For shoes, I opted for a dark gray pair of Rue21 flats ($5 on sale).

Now, I did try to be positive today, I really did. I even sent a cute selfie to Adam.

I promise, I did try to smile and be happy.
But it just didn't happen for me. So, after work, I came home, helped a friend with some homework, watched a few more Buffy episodes, and then went to bed. Fun. All right, well I'm going to head out now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

More Animal Print To Come...

Day #305

Apparently I just cannot get enough of the animal prints! More specifically, leopard print. I just love it! :)

Last night was actually pretty fun! After the family bailed, Gage and I went to The Hill (the bar area here in Cedar Falls). One of his old co-workers and friend, who just so happens to be gay and fabulous, Brandon, came out to join us. In all honesty, if he wouldn't have joined us, the night probably would have been quite the bust...he was funny and we had a TON in common- like our love for Bravo shows! It was perfection. :)

I didn't get too out of control, but I still managed to have a great birthday! :)

Tonight, Gage and I are going to Gingers, a bar, to listen to a band play after we have a family birthday party at my aunt and uncle's. I'm looking forward to it!

So Over Annoying and Rude Customers

Day 305

Hi!! I worked one of the most ridiculous opening shifts of my life today. For real. Customers just keep getting more and more rude. After just a few short hours, I was done with everything and everyone. No more of this negativity, though, because it's not helping anything. To get away from it, let's focus on the fabulous outfit I wore today, ok?

This fabulous outfit consisted of a fitted Michael Kors white dress that has gold studs along the top and bottom (eBay for like $40 or so) under a dark teal Mossimo blazer ($25 on sale). LOVE IT!!

I went with a pair of lighter brown Rue21 flats ($15 or so) since they matched my outfit :-P

WHAT UP TO BEING 21!!!!!

Day #304

It was a long night last night...I'm so worn out. :P

Country Night was a bit of a bust. My cousin, Megan, and I were the only ones that danced out of our group, while everyone else (Katy, Gage, and Jake) just sat a table being lame. One of my co-workers, Erin, was there though, so I hung out with her on the dance floor. :)

Around 10:30 we ended up leaving to go to Jokers, where I got a wristband before midnight (thanks to a friend working there) and I had a blast!!! :) I'll just leave it at that...;)

I wasn't hurting too bad when I woke up this morning. I was still tired, but I wasn't hungover; THANK THE LORD!

After I showered and got dressed, Katy, Gage and I went to Pancheros for lunch, where Jake was working. The rest of the day I took my sweet time to get ready. After all, it is my birthday. I can do whatever I want. :)

We had an early dinner, since Kimmy is leaving here shortly to go to Colorado on a church trip, and once we get here dropped off, we're going out to a few bars to get drinks, and then Gage and I are going out with some friends afterwards. Cross your fingers that tonight goes well!

Crazy Workness Needs to End

Day 304

Hello!! Today featured some early morning working out and another closing shift. Nothing too fun here. My workout was a painful but good, and my work shift was pure craziness. More so than the previous days. Customers are not very fun to help these days... Oh well.

My work outfit was super cute, though, so there's a plus :-) I wore a printed Michael Kors jersey shift dress (eBay for like $10 or so) under a black blazer I've had for the longest time ever.

The dress is super comfortable and incredibly fabulous, too, by the way :-)

For shoes, I started off with a beautiful pair of JustFabulous heels that have bows on the back ($40 years ago), but I ended up switching into some nude Mossimo flats (Plato's Closet for $6) for comfort. My feet were killing me after a bit :-P

The Night Before.

Day #303

I could feel it in my bones all day that today was going to be a good day! :)

I started my day off with a semi-hard workout at ROC and an early birthday gift- which would just so happen to be a MANNEQUIN!!! I was so freaking jazzed!

I assembled the mannequin right after my shower, dressed it, and then admired my new gift before going to take a well needed and well-deserved nap.

I went to Tropical Sno- a snocone place in town- with one of my best friends, to have a last hurrah before she is disassociated from my sorority on Sunday for Formal Recruitment. After Sunday, I'm not allowed to talk to, hang out with, or even be around any of the Rho Gammas until recruitment is over, the first weekend in September. It's going to be a long month...:/

Tonight I will be going out to Beck's (a bar and grill) for Country Night, and possible to Joker's (another bar) after that to celebrate my birthday at midnight! I CANNOT WAIT TO FINALLY BE 21!!! :)

Wish me luck and safety! lol

Shopping Time!!

Day 303

Hi!! So, today was a great day for me in terms of shopping and saving. I worked a closing shift, allowing me to workout and then stop by afterwards to do some shopping. Yeah, that's right... I shopped in my workout clothes. BUT I did already have the stuff set aside to buy, so it's not like I had to do anything extensive. I got in, bought my stuff, and got out. Simple and efficient. I like it :-) I'll get to what I purchased shortly, but first... Onto my work shift.

Work went pretty well. Customers were crazier than usual due to Dillard's having an additional 40% off already reduced items, which included Michael Kors sale bags. So, yeah... Craziness. But it wasn't a bad shift, just crazy. My outfit was super cute, which is always a helper. I wore a striped Michael Kors maxi dress (eBay for $50 or so) with a cropped white cardigan that I've had for forever.

I LOVE this maxi dress!! For real!! It's incredibly fabulous :-)

I kept it simple with my shoes, opting for a pair of nude Mossimo flats (Plato's Closet for $6).

Ok, so onto what I bought: a beautiful Michael Kors gray snakeskin-printed leather handbag that was originally $398 on sale for $199 with an additional 40% off and my employee discount (25%) on top of that. I'm in love with this bad boy :-) But, more importantly, I also bought Korry two fabulous items for a "Sorry-I-Never-Bought-You-a-High-School-Graduation-Present"/belated birthday/early Christmas gift. The first was a large Michael Kors signature print multi-function tote in vanilla that was originally $378 on sale for $139 with the two additional discounts, and the second was a smaller Michael Kors navy tech wristlet that was originally $98 on sale for $68 with the same discounts. Yeah, I did some amazing shopping :-) I even sent Korry's items to her through Dillard's shipping to same some time and money. Sweet!!

Early Birthday Shopping!

Day #302

Another Wednesday means another day off!

Sleeping after ROC was amazing, but it definitely made me want to be lazy for the day...It took me forever to roll out of bed and get going for the day. I was eventually ready by 3:30pm. :P

After all of the daycare kids left and Katy got home from babysitting, my sisters, mom and I went out to the mall and to maurices to do some birthday shopping for me, and to get Kimmy a few last minute things before she leaves for Colorado on Friday for a church trip.

I was able to spend all of my birthday money, mostly at maurices, but I did get a pair of earrings and a tank top at Von Maur, which I plan on wearing tomorrow night when I go out! I'm pumped! :)

After shopping and eating dinner, I stuck to my usual routine and went to watch Gage play softball. They had a double hitter tonight, sucking at the first game and only losing by two on the second. I actually had a lot of faith in them winning surprisingly! lol

I'm off to bed now! Toodles! :)
