Why Must Mondays Exist?!

Day 188

Hey!! Man, I did NOT want to go to class today. At all. I ended up emailing my field experience teacher to let her know I was sick and didn't want to get the kiddos sick, which she was totally OK with, but I did have to go to my actual classes today.

My first class (Math for Liberal Arts) consisted of a section test that was much harder than I anticipated, so that was great. During the 1.5 hour break, I sat outside the room my next class meets in to work on some homework. My second class (Intro. to Diversity for Educators) was OK. We took a ton of notes, again, but other than that, it wasn't too bad. The 2.5 hour break afterwards was spent talking to Adam, doing homework, relaxing, and then working on the lesson plan project with my partner. And my last class (Instructional and Adaptive Technology) was also OK. Lots of notes, but it's an interesting class, so that helps.

My outfit today consisted of a no name graphic tee that says "Welcome to the Good Life" ($6 from Plato's), a peachy-colored Lauren Conrad cardigan that has cool cutouts on the sleeves and upper-back portion ($15 or so from Kohl's forever ago), and my cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale). Cute, casual, and comfy :-)

The cutouts are REALLY cool!!

And I do love the graphic print on this shirt quite a lot :-)

I decided to add some color with my teal Mossimo pointy-toed flats that have little holes in them. They were like $5 on clearance at Target, and I totally love them a lot :-) It's no big deal.

Similar Mossimo flats
Now, what really sucked about my Monday, other than still being pretty sick, was finding out that the 3-week training Adam has to do before deploying in July will take place in Germany directly before he goes on his deployment. He called me about it right before my last class. He's essentially going to be gone for a total of 7 months in a row instead of 6. Fantastic. I'm super upset about it :-( Oh well... There's nothing I can do about it.

After my last class, I went home to relax with Adam. Nothing very exciting. I'm going to go do that some more, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Sleep is the only thing on my mind.

Day #188

I can already tell by how slow today went that its going to be a long week...

I'm still in recovery from the crazy, lack of sleep weekend, and going to 8AM class is real not helping. -_-  I was having a hard time staying awake!

After my long day of classes, I had a lip sync practice, in preparation for our performance in front of the Greek Week committee. We just had to perform for the committee to make sure we were following all of the rules and that our dance wasn't too "promiscuous" or anything like that. In case you're wondering, we're safe. :) lol

The struggles are so extremely real...

Day #187

So last night sure tired me out!

I didn't go to bed until probably 3 or 4 in the morning, and then I woke up at 8:30 to get ready to go to church. I'm an idiot. :P

Katy, Gage and I drove to the version of our church in Grundy Center, which is about 30 minutes away, to watch Jake (Gage's brother and Katy's boyfriend) play in the worship band. It was a good service and all, but I was REAL TIRED. #struggletostayawake

After church, I had a recruitment workshop for ADPi I had to be at at 1, so Gage dropped me off there, and I didn't get done with that until about 3:30. Right after that I had lip sync practice, a small break for dinner, and then I had a TME to present to the seniors before meeting. I was crazy busy!!! :P

Meeting went really fast, THANK GOD! We didn't have much to talk about so it went quickly, and then we had a candle passing, where one of my sisters announced that she got engaged earlier in the afternoon! How exciting!?!? :)

Check out my cute dress!

Oh How I Love The Pub!!

Day 187

Hi!! Guess who's still suffering from a terrible cold?! This girl, that's who. It's great. But not really. I spent most the day just bumming around trying to feel better. I really do hate having colds. I would honestly much rather have the flu or food poisoning since the act of getting sick, while being highly unpleasant, at least will temporarily make you feel better. When you have a cold, you just feel like crap the entire time. True story.

After a while doing a whole lot of nothing, I started to get bored, so Adam suggested going to The Pub for dinner, to which I readily agreed. I LOVE eating at The Pub!! It was delicious, as always :-) For our impromptu dinner date, I wore a really cute Mossimo denim button-up that has a floral print on it ($3 at Plato's) over a plain navy camisole with my basic dark wash American Eagle skinny jeans ($35). Cute, comfy, and fairly simple :-)

Similar American Eagle skinnies
Every time I wear this shirt, I can't believe how I got it for just $3 at Plato's Closet. I JUST LOVE IT SO MUCH!!

Similar Mossimo button-front shirt
I also wore the fabulous brown Madden Girl boots that I had bought from Plato's Closet for a whopping $12. LOVE THESE SO MUCH!!

After dinner, Adam and I went back to the apartment so I could get some homework done since I had quite a lot of it. Adam didn't complain since it allowed him to play his game :-P. The rest of the night was basically spent doing said homework, so nothing too terribly exciting. Oh well. I'm going to head out, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Black Diamond Ball!

Day #186

After my long day yesterday, all I wanted to do was relax. But, unfortunately, I had to work all day, from 10am-4:30pm. We weren't super busy at work, so I ended up getting off thirty minutes early, which was really nice!

After work I had to rush home to get my hair and nails done for the Black Diamond Ball formal that was later that evening, for my sorority. Katy was going to curl my hair and do something cute to it, and my mommy was going to paint my nails to match my pretty dress! Fun stuff. :)

Formal was fun! Gage and I got to the venue around 6:30, took pictures, socialized and then finally sat down for dinner once everyone had arrived. There was a cute and funny slideshow, awards given out to all of the sisters, and then we danced the rest of the night. It was a great time! (Minus the dumb fight Gage and I had afterwards :P)

Working When I'm Sick :-/

Day 186

Hey!! I had to work an 11-8 shift during a really bad cold today, and it was not pretty. I somehow managed to make like $1500 in sales even with being sick, which was something. I also put in my 2 weeks via a note/letter to my manager. I felt bad doing it, but I need consistent hours and consistent paychecks, which Dillard's can give me, and I can't work 2 jobs right now.

Work itself was OK. I just wanted to go home all day since I felt so miserable. I didn't even put much thought into my outfit today, nor did I do anything with my makeup and hair. I wore a white BKE Red top that has lace sleeves ($15 after discount) with my teal BKE infinity scarf ($10 after discount) and my lighter wash pair of Daytrip skinnies ($35 after discount). I did have to wear a plain tan camisole underneath my shirt since it's kind of sheer.

I love how pretty these sleeves are!!

I also wore my brown Daytrip gladiator sandals that I had gotten for like $24 or so. I love them :-)

After work, I went home to spend the rest of the night relaxing in order to start feeling better. There really wasn't a whole lot of excitement going on today. I did find out that Adam has to leave for 5 or  6 days the week of my birthday (which is also the week my family is going to be here) to go to a base in Nevada for training. That's just great. Oh well, there's nothing I can do about that.

I'm going to head out so I can relax and try to feel better, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!

INITIATION!!!

Day #185

As you could probably tell from the title, today is the final initiation day! After tonight, all of our seven Alphas will become full Delta initiates of Alpha Delta Pi. It's all very exciting! :)

For lunch, I met up with my dad and sister, Katy, at Pancheros. It was yummy! Gage was working, so he made my burrito just the way I like it. :)

After my last two classes of the day, I did some homework, and then, before I knew it, it was time for me to pick up my diamond and some other sisters to head to initiation!

After the ceremony was over and Brittney was initiated, my diamond family went out to Buffalo Wild Wings for our diamond family dinner date- it's kinda tradition in our family! When I was first added to my diamond family, there were only four of us, and we would always go to Bdubs. Then, after we added two more to our family, we went there for their initiation week, so it was only fitting that we would go there with Brittney, especially since my diamond twin, Ashley, was coming home from Chicago for the weekend!

It was so amazing to finally get to have a diamond family date! I haven't seen Ashley since before winter break (so last semester) so I was BEYOND excited to see her! When I saw her walk into Bdubs, I jumped up from my seat, ran to her, and gave her the biggest hug! I may or may not have teared up a little....and by that I mean I definitely had some tears! lol  I love that girl with all my heart! :) <>

So yeah, I had a pretty great Friday! Here's what I wore!

Interviewing It Up!!

Day 185

Hi!! So, the cold I thought I felt coming on yesterday is definitely now in full swing. It's fantastic... but not really. Since I now feel incredibly miserable, I had every intention of staying in all day, laying around, talking lots of medication to kick this cold, and not doing a whole lot of anything. However, this morning I got a call from the store manager at Dillard's asking me if I was still interested in a position that's 30 hours a week at a starting pay of $10 an hour. IT'S ABOUT TIME THEY GOT BACK TO ME!! Obviously, I said yes, so then he asked me if I could come in at 4pm for a second interview. I figured there's no time like the present (even though I have a nasty cold), so I said yes to that, too.

So, I got up, showered, and got ready for my interview. I wore a Maurices black short-sleeved blazer ($10 on sale years ago) over a printed BKE tank top ($12 after discount) with my black Daytrip jeggings (about $30 after discount). Professional, comfy, and fabulous :-)

Similar BKE tank top

I love this blazer because of how well it fits me :-)

I also wore a pair of nude ShoeDazzle pumps ($40) that I had bought years ago. They're super freaking comfy and incredibly easy to walk around in.

My interview went really well, and they offered me a job, which I accepted :-) I will have to put in my 2 weeks at Buckle and tell Urban Outfitters that I won't be able to work there, but it'll all work out in the end, so it's all good.

After my interview, I went back to the apartment to spend the rest of my day relaxing and trying to feel better. That's all I got, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Not-So-Great News

Day 184

Hey guys!! I worked a pretty decent 9:30-5 shift today, which was nice. The store wasn't as busy as I would've liked, which mean I didn't quite get the sales I needed, but it wasn't completely dead, either, so that's good. I did try to decide today how I was going to divide my time between the two jobs (Buckle and Urban Outfitters), going to school full-time, and Adam, which is no easy task. I still haven't figured it out exactly, so I should probably get on that at some point :-P

So, I did like my outfit today when I put it on this morning in the dark, but as the day went on, I realized that I was wearing navy and black. Now, in some cases, this combination doesn't look bad, like if it's a soft black and a lighter navy, but in this particular case?? Yeah, no... Definitely not good. Regardless of that detail on my outfit, I really did like the overall feel and concept. I wore a Daytrip maxi dress that has a neon pink chiffon top and navy-and-white striped skirt ($24 after discount) with a black Daytrip lace/crochet vest ($15 after discount) and a neon pink thin Daytrip skinny belt (clearance at $4 online).

Daytrip vest

For shoes, I wore my black studded Twisted flats that were about $12 or so after my discount.

Twisted flats
After work, I went home to spend some time with Adam. Now, here's where my day turned upside-down within the blink of an eye: Adam told me that he's going to be deploying in July for 6 months to Saudi Arabia :-( I'm so not ready for that yet... The upside, though, is that the base he's going to is a great base that's non-hostile. It's one of the best bases you can get for a deployment. AND the job he's going to be doing while he's there is basically the best job you can get at that base for his career field, so that's good, too. It's just... I don't want him to leave.

Naturally, I was bawling for a while after he told me, and to top it off, I could feel the beginning of a cold starting. To help get me out of my soon-to-be-depressed state, we decided to go out for dinner to this place called Grimaldi's in the mall. They have thin crust pizza that's supposed to be really good (and it was actually pretty good). I think going out definitely helped perk me up a little bit.

For this going-out part of the day, I kept my dress the same but threw on a navy Old Navy cardigan that I had bought for $6 at Plato's as it was a bit chilly outside. I also kept the belt the same.

Similar Old Navy cardigan
For shoes, I kept it simple with my plain white H&M flats ($12). They're super comfy, by the way.

Similar H&M flats
After dinner, I called my family to let them know about Adam's deployment and then spent the rest of the night just relaxing with him. I'm still kind of in shock about the whole deployment-thing, but I do know that my sister Katy (who's graduating from high school this semester and will be turning 18 in July) is going to come stay with me for the first 2 weeks in August, so that helps quite a bit.

I'm going to get going, now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Blue and White

Day #184

Today was day two of initiation, so Blue and White Initiation. We had the seniors share their experiences in ADPi, and talk about how ADPi has changed their lives and how much they're going to miss the chapter. It was a little emotional. :/

My big diamond, Kathleen, graduates this May, so I had a rude awakening at tonight's initiation that I have to say goodbye to Kathleen here soon...Sad day. :(

Before initiation, I worked for most of the day, and then I went to lip sync practice right after. It was a long, busy day. :P

Boho Wednesday :-)

Day 183

Hey!! Today was a pretty good day. Not fantastic, but not terrible, either. I didn't have my field experience since the elementary school I'm at is having their Spring Break still, so I got to sleep in. However, I wasn't feeling the greatest this morning, so I emailed my first teacher to let her know that I wouldn't be able to make it to class. Basically, even more sleeping in.

The class I did go to (my second class) went OK. I found out that my partner and I got 100% on our project we had presented last week, so that was really great!! But, we also took a crap ton of notes, so that bumps the overall class experience down to just "OK".

I did really love my outfit for today, though. I wore a plain black Cotton On tee (like $5 on sale) under an Eyeshadow southwestern-printed vest ($8 from Plato's) with a cream Mossimo sweater cardigan ($6 from Plato's) as the top layer. LOVE IT!! It's very Bohemian-feeling while not being too hippie-ish, and I totally dig it :-)

The vest AND the cardigan BOTH have pockets!! Score!!

Eyeshadow vest
I also wore my cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans that I had gotten for $25 on sale. I know, I do wear them a lot, but it's because they're literally my favorite pair of jeans... EVER!!

For shoes, I went with a super fabulous pair of BC dark teal ankle boots that I had gotten from Plato's Closet for $12. I FREAKING LOVE THEM!!

After my class ended, I just chilled until my 6pm class. This week, we weren't actually having class, but instead, we were supposed to use the normal class time to meet with our partners and work on our lesson plan project. So, that's what I was waiting for. Literally waited for 2.5 hours before my partner got back to me saying that she couldn't meet me. FANTASTIC. Wasted way more time than was necessary. I was definitely not happy about that part.

So, I then drove home and spent the rest of the night just relaxing in the apartment. Nothing too exciting there. And, now I'm going to head out, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!

Black Diamond

Day #183

Today I had Black Diamond Initiation, the first day of initiation for our Alphas (new girls). There's a cute little ceremony, and then we take a bunch of pictures together to celebrate initiation week! My Diamond sister, Brittney, is one of the girls getting initiated, so it's very exciting for me, as well as for her! :)

Before initiation I had lip sync practice. Things are going pretty well for practices! We've gotten the whole routine taught, so now all that needs to be done is the formations.

Not much else happened today. :P

Lazy Day

Day 182

Hi!! So, I was rather lazy today, and I'm totally not ashamed of that at all considering how productive I've been the past few days. I got to sleep in and just relax all day long. LOVE IT!! Nothing too exciting or special happened today, so there's not a whole lot to report on. Sorry about it :-P

For my lazy day, I pretty much just wore a Wartburg College "baseball" ¾ length shirt and my holey American Eagle cropped skinnies ($25 on sale) all day. True story. No shoes. Nothing special. I literally didn't leave the apartment at all. Deal with it ;-)

Similar American Eagle cropped/holey jegging
Now, don't laugh, but when I bought this shirt back when I went to Wartburg, I bought it in the kid's section of the bookstore... I thought it was super cute, and I just didn't understand why it wasn't offered in women's sizes, so I said screw it... and bought it in a large :-P

Similar Wartburg baseball tee
The only "exciting" part of my day was getting to watch Frozen again. And don't get me wrong, watching Frozen is actually pretty exciting, but I've also watched it a good number of times since we bought it. No matter how many times I've watched it, I will continue to get excited and sing along with all of the songs each and every single time because that's just the kind of person I am :-)

All right my fellow fashionistas, I'm going to head out, so until the next time... Stay fabulous!! Ciao!!

Tiring Tuesday

Day #182

Today was a little bit better than yesterday. I was still really tired and in recovery, but I'm starting to get back into the swing of things!

I had two classes today, which I attended after tanning, and then I had a hair appointment at 2:30PM before heading into work at 5. I ended up getting four inches cut off on my hair, which doesn't seem like a lot, but it was to me.

I was stuck at work until about 10:30. It sucked! I was so tired and I had a ton of homework and studying to do, so working really late was the last thing on my mind. Plus, to top it all off, I didn't get a break, so I didn't get to eat dinner until about 11PM. Not okay.

On the bright side, however, I did manage to look cute today! Check it out below. :)
