Beauty Is Pain.

Day #341

I did not have to work today, and that was the greatest feeling I have felt in a while!

I had to wake up early, but not as early as usual, for church, which I attended with my family. After the service, I got to relax and prep myself for starting another week at school, and another week at ROC; UGH.

A few weeks back, I got this totally adorable lattice front blouse. I've worn it once before, but I paired it with a fun printed skinny pant, whereas today I paired it with a simple skinny jean, BUT dolled it up a smidge with a fancy statement necklace and a glitter wedge. Really cute!

The negative to wearing cute shoes: the pain that is present sometimes with new shoes, especially heels. I'll do anything to wear a cute pair of shoes, and that includes bearing the discomfort and pain. Why do we, as girls, always do that to ourselves? It's a mystery I will never be able to solve!

Anyways, check out my new shoes! (They're less than $10!)

A Sunday Off

Day 341

Hello!! Since Kate, Chelsea, and I all had the day off, we decided to get together and make a trip to the downtown area of St. Petersburg to look around, shop, and just have fun together. We were all able to sleep in, and then when we got there, we walked around, checked out some shops, got ice cream, had some drinks at a bar, got dinner, and then finished off the night with some frozen yogurt. It was just lots and lots of fun :-)

I kept my outfit pretty simple: a green Papaya v-neck ($5 on sale) and some cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale). It was kind of hot, and since I knew we would be walking around a lot, I wanted to be comfortable.

To give my outfit a little more interest, I chose my good 'ole chevron-striped Old Navy pointy-toed flats ($8 on sale).

At the end of the day, Chelsea dropped me off at home, and I just relaxed in my PJs until bed. It was basically just a really great day off :-) I'm going to call it good, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Lipstick and High Heels

Day #340

Back to work I went this morning!

Strutting my "stuff" into work was a little of a struggle at first, but once I got my rhythm on the floor, I was on top of my game. I mean, how could I not have a great day looking as good as I did in the new "fancy shirt," as I call it, at work?! No. Brainer.

I've got to admit, vests have become a new favorite of mine. Weather it's a winter puffy vest, a denim vest, or my new olive green khaki-like vest, I love adding them to my wardrobe, switching up my look. Just check out my outfit below! :)

More Work

Day 340

Hey!! I was able to work out for an hour today before my closing shift, so I was super happy about that :-) My closing work shift was just "eh" like not great but not terrible. Nothing exciting or anything like that. Just "eh" :-P

My outfit today consisted of a cream Forever 21 puff-sleeved top ($10) and some dark pink high-waisted BDG cropped skinny pants ($12 at Plato's Closet, originally from Urban Outfitters).

BDG jean
I added in my favorite layered statement necklace ($17 on sale from Dillard's) to dress up the outfit a bit.

I like the cute cutout on the back of this top a lot :-)

I kept my shoes simple by choosing a pair of light brown Rue 21 flats ($15 or so).

After work, I went home to relax for the rest of the evening. Nothing too fun or exciting here. Sorry but I'm not sorry. I need relaxation every once in a while, OK? Ok :-) I'm going to call it good for this one, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!

Working Weekend

Day #339

I survived the first week of class- HALLELUJAH!

Now that I have been fashion forward for the entire week, I'm done for the year. Right? That is how that works, isn't it? That's what I think it means anyways. Just kidding!

I am so ready for the weekend, it's ridiculous! I just want to relax, and enjoy some free time without rushing to classes or to an ADPi event, but that won't happen with working almost every day.

Have a great weekend, and relax a little for me, would ya? Thanks! :)

Work and Girl Time

Day 339

Hi!! I was able to workout at 6am this morning, which made me super happy since I love starting my day that way. I also had to work a 9:45-6 work shift that was super annoying due to not being able to make many sales because the store was that slow. Fantastic.

My work outfit consisted of a cute black SammyDress.com top ($9) and my black Daytrip jeggings from Buckle ($50). All black but still cute :-)

My Daytrip jegging
I like the lace collar on this shirt a lot :-)

And the lace on the ends of the sleeve :-)

I chose my tall black SammyDress.com boots ($19) to finish off the all-black theme I seemed to stick with today.

After work, I went home, changed into a black Xhilaration tank top ($10 on sale) and a striped Wet Seal maxi skirt ($20), and tidied up the apartment a bit to get ready for my friends Kate and Chelsea to come over when they get off of work.

Kate got off first, so she picked me up to make a Publix run for some snacks and dinner stuff. For that, I chose some mint green Forever 21 sandals ($8 on sale) since they're easy to wear.

Publix didn't take very long, thank goodness. From there, we went back to my apartment, made dinner, and waited for Chelsea to come over to watch Bring It On together. It was basically just a super fun girl's night :-) I'm going to head out now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!

Don't Mess With A Status Quo Girl

Day #338

I know, I know. It makes no sense to wear a sweater with shorts. But hey, what can I say? Bipolar Iowa weather calls for weird clothing matches!

With the odd weather patterns, especially over the past months this year, I have had to completely re-think my wardrobe selections and the different combinations of seasonal clothing that I have organized within my closet. HOW ANNOYING. I'm a very "stick-to-the-status-quo" kind of girl, so this mix-up of the temperatures and clothing within seasons is driving me bonkers! Ugh.

Well, I tried my best to make it work for today. See what you think, and maybe try it out for yourself!

More Class

Day 338

Hey!! Today was another class day for me, with 2 classes total taking place (one from 2-4:55 and one from 6-8:55), but it wasn't bad by any means. Just lots of information being thrown at me. You know, just adding onto my already somewhat high stress level. I was able to work out this morning, which helped me de-stress a bit, so that's good.

My outfit for today consisted of a plain white Forever 21 lace tank top (Plato's Closet $6) and some dark green Gianni Bini cropped skinny cargo pants from Dillard's (about $30 or so on sale). Nothing too crazy, just simple and cute.

I do wear this tank top a lot, right? Oops :-P

Cute cargo pockets!!
I went with my chevron-striped Old Navy pointy-toed flats ($8 on sale) to add some pattern and color to my otherwise not-very-colorful outfit.

After class, I went home to relax and put together some stuff for my classes before going to bed. I really didn't do anything too exciting or interesting today. Sorry about it. Oh well. I'm going to call this one good, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Girly Grunge Trendsetter

Day #337

Happy Hump Day, fashionistas!

Today I'm hoping for a quick day couple classes, and a fast shift closing at maurices, but we shall see how it all pans out!

Plaids and graphics are the new "it look" when it comes to being a Girly Grunge trendsetter. Don't be afraid to mix prints, play around with textures, and experiment with "out-of-our-comfort-zone" looks.

Add on a pair of jeggings and some bejeweled combat boots, and I'm set! Watch out retail world! I'm coming at ya hot! :)

Terrible Horrible No Good Very Bad Day

Day 337

Hi!! All right... I'm not going to go into a ton of detail about my day today because once I start, it just won't be good. Long story short, I worked out (which was fine), worked 9:45-3 (which was terrible, making sales was literally impossible), came home to get ready for class, had class (which was a bit overwhelming just like my seminar on Monday), and then managed to get a speeding ticket for $281 on my way home since I was too wrapped up in everything going on with school, work, and what not to notice I managed to go 20mph over the speed limit long enough to get pulled over. AND the cop that pulled me over didn't even give me the time of day to explain myself. Fantastic.

For work, I wore a crocheted Pinky top from Buckle ($40) with a tan camisole underneath and some navy Gianni Bini cropped skinny pants from Dillard's ($30 on sale). Pretty darn cute.

I added in a layered statement necklace (also from Dillard's, $17 on sale) for some more interest.

I went with my chevron-striped Old Navy pointy-toed flats ($8 on sale) to add some more color to the outfit. I do love these flats. True story.

For class, I kept everything the same in my outfit, except I changed into my favorite cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale) and took off my statement necklace to be more comfortable.

Once I got home from this terrible day, I decided to FaceTime with my family because I knew they could lighten up my mood. I did end up having a mini emotional breakdown during the call, but my family was able to make me feel better. Thank goodness for them! After that, I basically went straight to bed because I was just beat. I'm going to get going, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

The Struggle Bus Has Already Taken Off...

Day #336

It must be my work out class, but I am already struggling to stay awake in classes, and it's only Tuesday, the second day of the semester. I have a feeling it is going to be a long year...

I tried out my new cropped skinny jeans from American Eagle, with my new infinity love tank top from Von Maur, and I think it was a success! You can't go wrong with new clothes in new classes. :)

I survived my second day, and I'm hoping for an easier day tomorrow! Talk to you then!

Buffy and Angel Netflix Marathon

Day 336

Hello!! I loved today quite a bit because I didn't have any class or any work, so I spent a large chunk of my time watching episodes of Buffy and Angel on Netflix. SO fun :-) I did work out from 9:30-10:30, and I also ran random errands throughout the day, so it's not like I was a complete bum. Overall, though, there was lots of bumming around to be had. True story.

My outfit today consisted of a printed Daytrip top from Buckle ($23) and some cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale). Simple, fun, and really comfy.

When I did run random errands, I chose some plain white H&M flats ($12) since it's an easy choice.

Basically, today was just a very relaxing day for me, which was definitely needed after the long day yesterday. I'm going to get going now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!

Back to Prison.

Day #335

Happy first day of school. Rah rah. I'm so excited. -_-

NOT.

The only positive thing about school starting is getting to show off my new fashions in classes. Well, and I guess getting to see all of my sorority sisters. :)

Today I am wearing a new scarf, tank top, and a new pair of sandals purchased yesterday, so fingers crossed that the new look is a hit!

Back to School for Me

Day 335

Hey!! So, today was an incredibly long one for me, in case anyone was wondering. I did the whole "wake up at 5:15 to workout from 6-6:45" thing, showered and got ready AT the gym, then left from the gym to go straight to my campus (which is about 45 minutes away) to be in my very first class of the semester by 8am. It was crazy and busy morning. I'm really glad I did work out, though, instead of sleeping in a bit longer. Starting the day off with a workout is always a good idea :-)

The outfit I chose to wear today was a white-and-gray striped Michael Kors dress I bought on Amazon.com for like $75 with a gift card. It's super freaking cute, right?! And it's flattering while being incredibly comfortable. Win :-)

I went with some mint green Forever 21 sandals ($8 on sale) to give my outfit some color. They're SO comfortable, for real.

My class today was actually an 8-4:30 seminar pertaining to my Integrated Clinical Experience K-5 class, which is essentially my first Internship/student teaching thing. It'll be twice a week (Monday and Tuesday) for an entire school day each time. Long story short, it's going to be really overwhelming and stressful. Fun stuff.

The seminar was really long and a crap ton of information was thrown my way, so by the time it was over, I was 100% ready to go home and do a lot of nothing, which is exactly what I did. I'm going to call this one good, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!
