Why Does Life Always Have to Get Complicated When I'm Settled?!?!

Day 210

Hey!! Today, I worked another 7-3 Dock shift at Dillard's wearing the standard outfit of a plain black top, non-holey jeans, and close toe shoes, and it went really well. I'm apparently doing a really good job without meaning to be that outstanding or anything. I guess my "normal" working is above-and-beyond working for my managers?? Not a bad thing, by any means, since it makes me look good. Anyways, my work day went well :-)

Now, a quick story on something that happened yesterday before I go any further with my day today: Yesterday, before my second class, a guy manger-in-training that I had worked with at Buckle called me asking if I'd be able to talk with him after getting off of work at 3 the next day (or today), and I said I would out of curiosity.

Fast forward to today after work: I went into Buckle where the guy was waiting for me. We left the store to go sit at a table in the mall so we could talk. Apparently the manager at Buckle and two full-time leaders are leaving (or have left already) to go to the busier store in Clearwater, thus freeing up a ton of hours. Since this happened, the Buckle I worked at can now guarantee me 30 hours every week, which is what I had wanted originally but hadn't been able to get, hence me leaving. Basically, they want to offer me a job better than what I had previously.

What really gets me about this offer is that it has to come after I finally get settled at Dillard's and have everything figured out for the most part. Life just has to complicate things. Of course, I'm not going back to Buckle, but still... They finally try to give me what I want when I'm no longer interested. Figures :-P

So, anyways... After work and talking to the guy from Buckle, I went home, changed, and then left with Adam to go back to the mall for some errand-running. Yup. I leave work to go back to the mall I work in. Doesn't make any sense. Oh well, I never make sense anyways.

My outfit for the non-work part of my day consisted of a white BKE Red shirt that has lace sleeves (about $15 after my discount) with a tan camisole underneath and my basic pair of dark wash Papaya shorts ($12). I just threw it on so we could take off, and I don't think I did too bad for a quick decision. Actually, I think it turned out pretty cute :-)

What really sold me on this shirt was the sleeves, for real. I love a pretty lace sleeve :-)

To add some color and pattern, I went with the chevron-striped pointy-toed pair of Old Navy flats that I had bought a while back for like $6 or so. CUTE!!

At the mall, Adam and I went to the Pandora store to price out some charms for the bracelet he got me for my birthday. We actually ended up getting a really cute giraffe one for $25, and I'm super excited about it!! From there, we went into the PeachMac store to price out an iPad Mini for Adam to take on his deployment. Next, we left the mall to go to Wells Fargo to hand in some paperwork-type stuff for a college credit card application I filled out online. Lastly, we stopped by PetCo quick to pick up some cat food. Errands accomplished!!

After finishing our errands, Adam and I went back to the apartment to eat some leftovers for dinner, relax, and watch the Game of Thrones episode we missed on Sunday. It was a really, really good episode, in case anyone was curious ;-) Once the episode ended, Adam went to bed while I worked on homework and relaxed until going to bed myself.

I'm going to head out, so until the next time... Stay fashionable and productive, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!
