HAPPY FOURTH OF JULY, FRIENDS!!!!!
I love being given the excuse to dress 100% patriotic and 'Merica'd out for an entire day! It's a beautiful thing in the world of being Greek. :)
For this fabulous day, I got to sleep in, not having to wake up at 4:30am to work out. After finally picking out an outfit, Katy dolled my hair up, and Jake, Katy, Kimmy and I went to maurices. I had a few items I wanted to try on, including this absolutely darling maxi dress - soon to come! They helped me decide which ones were keepers, and which ones I could live without. They all passed the test. :)
We then headed over to Target, where we hit up Starbucks. Gage was just getting off of work, so I got him something to drink on as well. Funny story: As I was getting my straw into my drink, and organizing everything I was carrying, I accidentally knocked Gage's frappuccino into the garbage. Whoops! Lucky for him and myself, the drink landed upright on the top of an almost empty trash pile, so I was able to salvage is precious $4 beverage. That would have been such a waste of money had I just left it there, plus I knew Gage wouldn't mind. I mean, he eats food off the floor. I think he'll survive this one! lol Katy was such a brave soul for reaching her hand into the trash bin...
We got back to my house, picked up Gage, and headed out to Reinbeck (about 30 minutes away) to enjoy the festivities in town. It was lame. -_-
Dawn, who is Gage and Jake's dad's girlfriend/fiance/whatever, had a friend who lived in Reinbeck, so we went over to that girl's house for most of the time. It was kinda lame, but whatever. Around 6/6:30, we all left to go to the Pizza Hut a town over for dinner, hanging out there for a good hour and a half. By the time we got back into Reinbeck, it was just about time for the fireworks!
