Katy's B-Day, Work, and Burlesque

Day 298

Hello!! Today is my lovely sister Katy's 18th birthday, which is absolutely crazy :-P I worked out today from 9:30-10 in the kickboxing and boxing basics class at EmpowerBoxing, which hurt pretty bad, but it was totally worth it. I then had to work from 3:30-9:30, and my work shift went OK. I had to work with my least favorite coworker, but I basically just kept my distance from her for the entire shift. No interaction with her whatsoever. Perfection :-)

My work outfit today consisted of a black H&M top ($12 or so on sale) and my black Daytrip jeggings from Buckle ($50). Yeah, it was all black, but it was fabulous.

I wore my beautiful layered necklace that I bought from Dillard's for $17 on sale to add some pizazz to my outfit. I thought it was a pretty great choice, and it turns out everyone else thought so, too, because I got a TON of compliments on my outfit. SCORE!!

Then, because I felt like it, I threw on the tall black SammyDress.com boots ($17) that I love, which also ended up being another great choice since I received a TON of compliments on them as well. I basically just rocked it out today :-)

The only part of my look I didn't like so much was my hair. I had to wear it in a ponytail because it was kind of gross. Long story short, the last time I washed my hair was yesterday morning, and since washing it, I swam in a swimming pool and participated in a hardcore workout. So this morning when I started getting ready, I noticed how "cute" my hair was down and opted for a ponytail instead. I don't like wearing my hair in a ponytail when I'm going out anywhere.

Ponytails aren't my favorite... But sometimes
they have to happen :-P
After finishing my closing shift, I came home, changed, ate a quick sandwich, and then went with some work friends to an amateur Sailor-Moon-inspired burlesque show that didn't end until almost 2am. It was SO much fun!! And next weekend the theatre is putting on a Rocky Horror Picture Show viewing, which I'm most definitely going to. I'm SO excited!!

For this part of my evening, I wore a cute printed green tank top I bought from a small boutique in Maine while on vacation years ago ($40 or so) and my cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale) to keep it simple and comfy while still being somewhat fashionable.

I love the pattern on this top, but I'm not sure exactly what it is. I think it's supposed to be some sort of pre-blooming flower design?? IDK, I just know that I love it.

Vaguely similar tank top
The back is really cute due to the racerback style and button detailing. I love being able to show off my songbird tattoo :-)

Racerback is super cute :-)
For shoes, I wore some light brown pointy-toed Rue21 flats ($15 or so) that matched my outfit while still giving me near-maximum comfort. Win :-)

I didn't get home until super late (or super early depending on how you look at it) since I stayed after the show ended to hang out with some of my newly-made friends. It was a really great night :-) I'm going to head out now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous and forever trending, my lovelies!! Ciao!!
