Work is the Number One Killer

Day 325

Hello!! I was actually able to workout this morning since the first class was at 6am, and let me tell you what, I'm so glad I went. It's amazing how much I miss working out when I've only had one day off from it. It's also amazing how much that one day off can kick me in the butt :-P

After my workout, I went home, showered, got ready, and headed on over to Dillard's for my 9:45-3 shift. This work shift was so slow, just like yesterday. However, it was a great deal more interesting than yesterday's shift, but I'll get to that in a bit. First, my work outfit, which was completely fabulous: a black H&M fitted top ($8 or so on sale) with my black Daytrip jeggings from Buckle ($50). Doesn't sound very fabulous, but trust me, it is :-)

Especially when you add a layered statement necklace (Dillard's, $17 on sale).

And some freaking fierce Daytrip boots (Buckle, $85 originally). These boots earned me so many compliments, it's insane!!

Ok, so here's why my work shift was interesting: my store manager came up to me with the Dior counter district representative and the cosmetics manager to talk to me about joining the Dior team instead of becoming the Michael Kors specialist like I want. Then, the Dior counter district representative pulled me aside for like 10 minutes or so to talk to me in depth about what joining the Dior team would mean and what would be expected of me. This basically threw a huge wrench in my plans for the specialist position I want, and I have no idea what to do. Working cosmetics scares me to no end. Why you ask? Well, long story short, it's incredibly competitive, I don't have a strong clientele following, I'm not that great at pulling people in to sell to, the stress levels in cosmetics are much higher due to the previously mentioned reasons, and I'm not passionate AT ALL about cosmetics. For real. I wouldn't even wear makeup to work if I didn't think it was necessary to look more professional.

Now, the problem with saying no to this offer is that I'll eventually be moved out of accessories anyways since it's an entry-level department, which means my options will then be Women's Shoes (dangerous), Men's (slower than accessories), or Ready To Wear/Women's (even more competitive than cosmetics and still just as slow as accessories). Great choices, right?! So, yeah... My decision is not an easy one. Hopefully I can figure out what I want to do soon before a decision is made for me.

After work, I came home, changed into a cute elephant top from SammyDress.com ($9) and my cropped holey American Eagle skinny jeans ($25 on sale), and went to Target/PetSmart for some much needed groceries/pet stuff.

I decided to wear my chevron Old Navy flats ($6 or so on sale) again since they matched my outfit.

From there, I came home, put all the groceries/pet stuff away, and then relaxed for the rest of the night. Nothing too exciting here. I've got to get going now, so until the next time... Stay fabulous, my lovelies!! Ciao!!
