Sister, Sister: Beaning Busy Is Best!

Day #322

Another rough day at the gym was in store for me this morning. Boy oh boy was I beat after class! :P

I took a nice little 3-hour nap, got ready for the day, ate lunch, and waited until my audition at the church!

In the first week of May- right around finals- I had emailed the guy at my church in charge of worship and asked if there was anyway I could get involved in the bands. I used to sing in the high school bands on Wednesday nights, and I really miss it! I've been wanting to get back involved for a while now...

So anyways, he finally got back to me about a month ago- sweet Jesus he took forever! He got me hooked up with the vocal director person for the bands, who I've known for a few years now, and then the two of us girls emailed back and forth until we finally set a date for me to come in a sing for her.

That day was today.

I rolled into the church parking lot a little before 2PM, FREAKING OUT! Surprisingly, however, I think it went really well! Once I started singing, my fears just kinda dissipated, and I felt more comfortable belting out the lyrics. :) Sarah, the vocal director person, said I did awesome, but they unfortunately don't have any spots open in the bands right now for the fall. :( She did say she's going to talk the other leaders and see if they can "squeeze me in" to a band, and she's also going to see if she can get me into one of the student ministry bands (for college students). Honestly, I would prefer to be in the church service bands, but I would take either. Wish me luck, and I'll certainly keep you up to date! :)

After church, I stopped Starbucks for my free birthday drink, went to the mall- did some shopping at Von Maur- and then I headed home to get some stuff to return to maurices. I had some tops that I never wear, and needed to be returned, so I took those to maurices, got a new workout top and a new peplum instead, and then off to Target for God knows what...I just felt like snooping around at what they had. :)
I ended up getting a cute workout top, four pair of fun socks- two fuzzy, two tall socks- for a total of $4, some notebooks for school, and the beginning part of Gage's gift for our next anniversary. :)

My aunt Marnae, cousin, Megan, and my grandma- all from my mom's side of the family- came over for pizza; we had Papa John's and Casey's. SO GOOD! My cousin heads off to college at Iowa State University (the same school Gage will be going to) on Friday, so we were having a last hoorah/goodbye until we see her next- it could be a few months. We had a good night. :)
