Let's Go Hawkeyes, Let's Go!!

Day 99

Happy New Year!! I slept in again, but only until noon :-P Adam came home from work early (around 9:30), and by the time noon rolled around, he decided that it was time for me to get up. Honestly, I probably could've stayed in bed longer, but that wouldn't have been too smart since the Iowa Hawkeyes were going to be playing LSU in the Outback Bowl at 1pm, and I would've been really sad if I had missed any part of the game. True story.

Originally, Adam and I had thought we'd be able to get free tickets for the game (located in Tampa) from his squadron at work since they normally do get free tickets to give out, but this year, the guy in charge of getting the tickets didn't know he had to get them (he'd only been working there for about a week). So... yeah. No in-person game time for the Paquettes :-/ I wasn't too sad, though, because that meant I got to sleep in :-P

I got up at noon, ate breakfast (complete with a cup of coffee) quick, showered, dressed in my Hawk gear, and was sitting in front of the TV before the game started at 1pm. Impressive, right?! Right!! My Hawk gear consisted of a black Hawkeye jacket with a hood (like $50 at the HawkShop in Iowa City), a white ¾ Hawkeye shirt that has a front pocket (Christmas present from years ago), and my black Daytrip jeggins (about $30 after discount). SOOOO COMFY!!!!

This jacket is one of my favorite jackets because it fits really well, looks really cute, and isn't too overwhelmingly Hawkeye :-)

My fabulous Hawk jacket!!
I tried and tried and tried to find a shirt similar to my cute Hawkeye one, but I had zero luck. For serious. Granted, this shirt is years (and I mean years) old, so that's not too surprising.

Comfy Hawk shirt option (it's on sale!!) :-)
I added a black/gray pair of argyle Hawkeye tall socks (another Christmas gift from years ago), and I wore them overtop of my jeggins... all day :-P I'm not even kidding. Adam laughed at me for a bit, but hey, I had to represent my team. When I did leave the apartment (which was for a mere two minutes or so to check the mailbox), I wore a pair of black Mossimo combat boots (Plato's for $12) because they matched my outfit. That, and they made me feel like a complete bada** :-P

Ok, so the Iowa game didn't go as well as I would've hoped, but that happens. After the game ended, Adam and I tag-teamed dinner (he made the chicken and smashed potatoes, and I made the canned corn :-P), which turned out really, really well. What made me super happy was that there was more than enough for leftovers, so I'm brining it for lunch at work tomorrow :-)

Once dinner finished up (and we cleaned up after it a bit), Adam and I literally just sat around, watching Rehab Addict on TV, for FOREVER!! I've been going stir crazy for over two hours. I'm not even kidding. What sucks is that we just went out yesterday, so we really shouldn't go out again today, AND since it's New Year's Day, hardly anywhere is open. SUCKS!! And now it's like 8pm, which means Adam has to start getting ready for bed. So much for getting out of the apartment for more than a couple of minutes... Grrr!! I'm just so bored!!

Oh well... I'll (hopefully) figure something out so I don't go completely, 100% crazy... We shall see, I guess. I'm going to just watch some more Rehab Addict until I figure out my next move. I do have to be in bed, trying to sleep, by no later than midnight, so that's a good 4 hours of potential boredom right there. YAY!! (insert sarcasm here)

I'm off to go be bored some more, so until I post again... Stay team-gear-fabulous :-) Ciao!!
