Hey!! In case ya'all couldn't tell, today was an off day for me. I worked 2-11, and it was crazy stupid busy all day long. Normally, I would be OK with a large number of guests coming into the store because that means my sales will be really, really good, but today was definitely NOT the case. There were so many people working today that I hardcore struggled to get enough guests and sales to make my manager/leaders happy.
Instead of making the $2500 sales goal I was given, I struggled to make $1000 in sales. Really, really bad. I just kept getting super frustrated because it was impossible to pick up guests. Every time a guest would walk into the store, one of the people who've worked at Buckle for a long time would swoop in like a vulture and pick them up before I even had a chance. OR a guest would walk in, I would greet them like I'm supposed to, I would start to pick out a few items to show them as they're looking around, and just as I would make my way over to the guest to show them the items I've chosen, one of those same coworkers would swoop in and pick them up. SO STINKING FRUSTRATING!!
There are several coworkers of mine who not only have worked at Buckle for a pretty long time, but who are also full-time and leaders, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. However, when there's a lot of people working, it's super busy, and there's messes everywhere that need to be taken care of, I get really frustrated really fast when these coworkers keep picking up guests even though they're already helping several others and they've made messes all over the store, especially when I don't have any guests I'm helping. I would much rather pick up a guest or two and make my sales goals instead of cleaning up after other coworkers who have so many guests they're helping that they can't clean up after themselves.
Sorry, I'll stop ranting… It was just not a good day. The longer I worked, the more frustrated and withdrawn I got, and the more my coworkers could tell that I didn't want to be there. I ended up getting to leave at 10 when the store closed instead because there were 7 other people who were also working until 11. Thank God. I was NOT in the mood to clean up even more messes. For serious.
Ok, so now onto the one good part of my day… My outfit :-) I wore a really cute floral Daytrip peplum tank top ($10 on sale) with a thin silver belt, a burgundy-ish BKE Boutique cardigan that has little studs along the opening and pockets (about $30 after discount), my fabulous off-white BKE infinity scarf ($10 after discount), and a pair of Daytrip skinny jeans (about $40 after discount, I think). Pretty darn cute :-) I mean, ok… I did skimp on the whole third-layer-thingy, but I just didn't feel like wearing one. I figured, as long as I wear a third layer most of the time, I'll be ok.

Look at how cute my tank-top is!! I love it!! I mean, yeah… it can kind of look like something a little girl would wear… but it just all depends on how you style it :-)
I never took a picture of what the studs on my cardigan look like, so I figured I should do that this time because I know ya'all were super curious about what this detailing looks like, right?! ;-)
I also never took a picture of what my scarf looks like… or at least, not up close. So, here it is!!
For shoes, I went with my gray quilted Not Rated boots (about $45 after discount) because they are pretty freaking fabulous :-) I DO LOVE THEM A LOT!! And, for boots, they're surprisingly comfortable, which is always a good thing!!
After I got home from work, I finished reading my third book. So far, the Caster Chronicles series I'm reading has been really, really, REALLY good!! Just in case ya'all were wondering ;-) I didn't get to bed until 1:30 or 2, but I wasn't too concerned about that for some reason even though I did have to wake up by like 9… Oh well :-P Long hair, don't care. I have to catch up on a few more posts, so until I get done with the next one… Stay fierce, my friends :-) Ciao!!
