Much Better Monday

Day 90

Hi!! Today was a MUCH BETTER WORK DAY after the three not-so-great days I've had previously. Even though I didn't quite make my sales goal of $2000 (I did like $1500), it was still a really good work day. I worked an 8-4 shift that was busy, in a good way. Since I opened, I was able to help a large amount of guests before there were too many other coworkers working, which I think makes a huge difference. Instead of coming in in the middle of the day and feeling like I'm lost and like I don't know what's going on, I was able to open the store and feel like I was on top of everything and like I did know everything that was going on. I guess I like to open a lot more than anything else :-P

I also had a good talk with my manager and one of the leaders about why I've been feeling kind of off lately. Adam and I had talked about it last night because he's noticed, too, and I discovered that I've been off ever since we went to Christmas Town. I think going to Christmas Town made me realize how close it is to Christmas, how it doesn't feel like Christmas at all, and how I won't get to see any form of family for Christmas. Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad we went to Christmas Town because I really did enjoy myself, but I do think that it's what caused my off-ness. I was kind of in a little bit of a Christmas-related depression that was affecting my work and my home life, and I kept getting more and more frustrated/upset because I didn't know why I was feeling so off, and the more frustrated/upset I got, the more off I felt. It was just a vicious circle.

Luckily, Adam helped talk me through why I was feeling so off. Of course, getting a package from my parents making me cry made Adam and I realize that something really was wrong with me… (I forgot to put this in my last post, but we got a package in the mail from my parents yesterday that had a bunch of the ornaments I've had since I was little in it that made me cry). Having that piece of home with me and being able to talk things through with Adam helped put me in a much better mood.  Then, at work, I was able to explain everything to my manager and one of the leaders (and subsequently to other leaders/coworkers later on), which helped them understand that my off mood wasn't caused by me not wanting to be at work like they previously had thought. So, in other words, everything is all good :-) Like I said previously, today was just a much better day.

So, for this much better day, I wore a really cute cream Daytrip lace-layered top (about $20 after discount) with a darker tan Daytrip sleeveless long lace vest (about $25 after discount), which looked really, really cute together :-) Then, to add a bit of color, I threw on my teal BKE infinity scarf that has holes in it (about $12 after discount). I do love this scarf quite a bit :-) For bottoms, I went with my dark wash BKE skinnies (about $40 after discount, I think) again because they're just that comfy. Seriously. They're really, really comfy. Every girl should have a pair.

I wanted to show the detailing in my shirt/vest/scarf, so I just took a picture that includes all three because I'm lazy and didn't feel like taking 3 separate pictures :-P The shirt isn't your typical lace since it's kind of a woven lace, but the vest it. And the scarf has little pieces of fabric hanging from it as well as the holes, giving it that something extra, which I love. Now, I'm not sure if you noticed, but I didn't wear a third layer again… Oops ;-) Well, like I've said previously, long hair, don't care. That's just how it is, I guess. I didn't get in trouble for only wearing 2 layers, so NBD.

I went with my cream Not Rated heeled boots (about $40 after discount) again because a) I love them, b) they're really fabulous, and c) none of my other boots/shoes really look all that great next to my tan vest since it's kind of a weird tan/gray color and not you're typical tan. HOWEVER, I do also love these boots, which is the main reason I chose to wear them. The whole looking-good-next-to-my-vest-thing is only a bonus ;-)

So… after I got off of work a little after 4, I came home, and Adam and I decided to open presents early because, well… we can :-) So, he goes first and opens the package from Amazon that has the two amazing memory foam pillows I got for him. He obviously loves them because he helped to pick them out, which was good. Now, don't worry, I didn't just get him pillows. I had used my Bill Me Later card to get him an Xbox One Day One edition as an early Christmas present. Not only that, but I also go him two pairs of Saxx boxer briefs from Buckle (they're like one of the most comfortable pairs of underwear you can get a guy, apparently), which he ended up loving. So, I did get him some awesome presents. Just remember that when I tell you what he got for me, OK?

After Adam opened his gift, I got to open mine, and let me tell you… I FREAKED OUT when I saw what he got me… A FREAKING BEAUTIFUL MICHAEL KORS PURSE!!!! I'M SO SO SO SO SO SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW, I'M NOT EVEN KIDDING!!!! I've wanted a Michael Kors purse for as long as I can remember because they are SO pretty, but I never ever thought I'd get one anytime soon because they're SO expensive. And them BAM! Adam gets me one! He's such an amazing gift giver, right along with being the best husband ever! How did I ever get so lucky to have such an amazing man as my husband? I'll never know. But yeah… my purse is beautiful, so I had to include a picture for ya'all :-) I mean, just look at it!! It's gorgeous!!

After opening each other's presents, we got ready quick and went out to dinner at Outback with the Montgomerys, which was a great idea. The food was delicious, as always (I had a 6oz medium-rare wood-fired sirloin with coconut shrimp, some fresh steamed vegetables, and a pile of sweet potato fries), the company was great, and the drinks were very yummy (I had a Wallabe Darned, which is like a peach bellini, and a strawberry margarita). So, yeah… It was a very great dinner :-)

When we got back to the apartment complex, I went back to the apartment to change into some comfy clothes (I didn't want to include a picture because I only wore it for a few hours), and then I met Adam and the Montgomerys over at the Montgomery's apartment. We ended up watching Santa Clause is Coming to Town, a classic Christmas movie. Once the movie was over, we hung out and watched a little HGTV before calling it a night. I had a really good time, and it's nice to be able to have another coupe who's in the same boat as us to hang out with :-)

By the time we walked back home (we're like a 30 second walk from the Montgomery's apartment), it wasn't even midnight yet, but Adam and I were super tired. We ended up getting ready for bed and passing out pretty much right when our heads hit the pillows. For serious. We're kind of like an old married couple sometimes :-P I was just happy to know that Adam, the Montgomerys, and I all have the next two days off so we can spend Christmas Eve and Christmas together instead of being holed up in our apartments without anything to do. YAY for another couple to spend holidays with when we can't be with family!!

I am now officially caught up… Well, OK… Caught up until I do the post for today (Tuesday). I'll get there, but it won't be until later because it's only like 5:30. There's still so much that could happen today. I'm not saying a lot will happen, I'm just saying that it's possible :-) Now, I'm off to enjoy spending Christmas Eve with my husband and my furry babies (Khaleesi, Arya, and Tyrion Bunnister), and maybe even with the Montgomerys later tonight. So, until I post again… Stay happy, my fellow fashionistas!! Ciao!!
