Day 16
Howdy ya'all!! (I had to let my 'southern' side out at some point considering I do live in the south now) This girl has had a reeeeeeeaaaaaaally long day today :-P Even though I closed last night and didn't get into bed until after 11:30, I still had to be up by 7 so I could open at 8 this morning. Yikes, right? And to top it off, I had to work 10 hours today (well, ok... I did get off an hour earlier than I was scheduled, so 9 hours). Work wasn't too crazy. We went through periods of being deathly slow, and then it would get crazy busy, and then it would go back to being slow. Go figure :-P
This weekend is the LAST Back-to-School Weekend at Plato's, which also means it the last weekend of having to wear those dang t-shirts (need I go into my t-shirt rant again?). Needless to say, this girl is VERY happy about that fact. NBD :-) I didn't really want to take a picture in my t-shirt outfit today, but since I did get some compliments on the outfit, I figured I'd at least show what I wore. I paired a cute pair of Cotton On light-wash geometric-print skinny pants with my t-shirt to give the outfit some interest, and I decided to rock my black sparkly Cherokee oxfords again because sparkles make me happy :-) I also wore a plain white cardigan with this outfit throughout the day as I got cold (which happens more than one would think considering I live in Florida), but, for the most part, I went sans cardigan, or without cardigan. Side note: the cardigan I wore today I also bought during the beginning of my shift, and I didn't buy it for the purpose of wearing it today, either. It just happened that way :-)
Now, let me talk about the cute pants I wore today. I mentioned that they were light-wash and geometrically-printed, as well as them being from Cotton On, but what I didn't mention is just how flipping awesome they are!! I've only worn them once before today because they really need to be stretched out (and I just haven't had the patience yet), but I do plan on wearing them many more times during this 365 Day Challenge :-)
As I was laying my work outfit on the floor to take a picture of it, my cute little kitten (Khaleesi) decided she wanted in on the action. Since she is so darn cute, I just HAD to take a picture of her and include it in this post. I mean, look at that furry face!! She makes her mamma's heart melt!!
On to the main attraction: my cute outfit!! Since I knew it was going to be hot out when I got off of work (and since I knew my hubby would want to get out of the house at some point), I decided to rock a tank and shorts today. The fabulous striped and ruffled tank top is from Forever 21 that I purchased at Plato's for only $5 during the beginning of my shift today. My shorts are the ones from Papaya that I wear all the time :-P So... funny story about this tank top: I saw it when I first started working at Plato's and thought it was really cute, but I wasn't sure if it would look cute on me. To prevent myself from purchasing it, I put it on a mannequin with a cute pencil skirt and cardigan (I don't like undressing mannequins unless it's absolutely necessary), and I put the mannequin on the back of one of the aisles so I didn't have to look at the tank. Well, yesterday the mannequin's outfit changed, and this tank was just chilling on the run rack next to the tagging counter where I was tagging a bin of clothes. I just kept staring at it, and I couldn't avoid the inevitable any longer... I bought it :-P
Since I'd been on my feet all day, I wanted to wear a comfy pair of shoes without sacrificing on style. Naturally, my bright blue crocheted Toms were necessary to make this wish come true. I LOVE these shoes, and I didn't even have to pick them out. My hubby got them for me (all by himself) for my birthday this year. He did such a good job :-) Granted, he literally ALWAYS does such a good jobs when it comes to purchasing gifts for me. I just got lucky I guess ;-) But in all seriousness, I do love him soooooo much, and I really am the luckiest girl alive <3
After work today, my hubby and I went to a restaurant called BJ's for dinner, and it was DELICIOUS!! I had two frozen strawberry margaritas that were phenomenal, an Angus Pot Roast Sandwich (angus beef with mashed potatoes on top of a garlic bun thingy, covered in mushroom gravy and served with grilled veggies) that was ridiculous good, and a Chocolate Chunk Pizookie which I split with my hubby (a pizookie is a giant, freshly made Ghirardelli chocoalte chunked cookie with two scoops of vanilla ice cream) for dessert that was sinfully wonderful. I am still so incredibly full, but it was so worth it. Every single bite of my dinner was amazing, and I don't regret it at all. My hubby had had a bacon cheeseburger with fries that he says was just as good as my dinner. It was a great night :-)
Now, as sad as this is going to sound, this girl has to get going to bed. After the long day I've had, I'm so ready to hit the hay. It's not even funny. I'm exhausted. And I just so happen to be in a food coma, so that doesn't help either. Time to cuddle with the hubby :-) Until tomorrow... Goodnight, my darlings!!
-Kassy
