Day #46

OH MY FREAKING GOSH SUNDAY WAS BID DAY!!!!!! :))))))))))))))  Bid Day is seriously like Christmas for us sorority girls! No. Joke.

Basically, Bid Day is the day we find out which girls we will be inviting into our sorority. We offer bids, and they we find out if the girls accept, or deny, and if they accept, they become our new Alpha members (meaning they're not initiated yet). We also get our Rho Gammas back, during Rho Reveal. Rhos are girls from all four chapters, who gave up their letters (or disassociated from their sorority) so that new girls could find their new homes. Disassociation started two months ago, so we were so extremely pumped and anxious to get our girls back!!!

We ended up extending bids to twenty-nine girls, which was the most any chapter got on campus! SUPER EXCITING!!! We ended up getting really lucky, and all of them accepted, including the three legacies that went through recruitment, giving our chapter a new total of EIGHTY-TWO GIRLS!!!!! Alpha Delta Pi is now the largest it has ever been and it is also the biggest sorority on campus! What what! :) lol

When we arrived at the house at 10:30am, we found out what our bid day theme was, which is the 90s. Our surprise bid day shirts were white v-necks with navy writing. The front said "Alpha Delta Pi," "Epsilon Mu" and "Bid Day 2013" on the front, and "Stop, collaborate, and listen, ADPi's back with some brand new additions!" on the back. They are so freaking adorable!!! <3  With the shirt, I wore dark denim American Eagle jeggings and silver Candie's sandals.

After we all changed into our shirts, we prepared the house for after the Rho Reveal and handing out bids. We then found out who was going to be getting a bid, and luckily, the girl I really liked was going to be receiving one! All that she needed to do was accept it. :)  I volunteered to be the girl to run up and grab her after accepting her bid, obvi, and I was so anxious to do that! That happened around 12:30pm, and after getting all our new girls, we headed outside to the rest of the chapter and took group pictures with the letters we brought. We waited for about an hour after that for Rho Reveal. It was so crazy emotional!!! I bawled my frickin' eyes out when we finally got our girls back! But don't worry, they were happy tears! :)  We hung out at the house after everything was over for recruitment and got to know the new girls better and catch up with our Rhos. It was such an amazing day. :)

I went back to my dorm around 5pm, went to dinner with some new girls and Brea, Anna and Morgan at 7, after skyping with Gage, and then I did homework until I went to bed at 10. It was a long day, and a long weekend, but it was absolutely incredible! It definitely made me realize how much of a privilege it is to be an Alpha Delta Pi girl. :)  I freaking love my sorority!!!!!!!! <>
